Adoption Posting
This listing is a public service for cat owners and cats.  The public provides all published information and assumes the responsibility for its accuracy.  The veterinarians of The Cat Clinic of Stillwater have not necessarily examined the felines listed on this page.  All adoptions are private agreements between the two parties involved.  To adopt a cat or kitten, please contact the owners at the numbers provided.  If you would like to list a cat or kitten, please contact the clinic.  Each listing will remain on the web for approximately one month unless an update is received.

Sweetie Pie is a spayed, 1 year old cat. She is very aptly named -- she is loving and affectionate and she enjoys lots of attention. She even has a heart-shaped white spot on her chest! She still plays like a kitten, which is the reason she needs to find a new home. The other cat in the house is a senior citizen who would rather sit quietly, and Sweetie Pie just doesn't understand why he won't play with her. She would do well as a single cat or in a house with playmates (other cats who are close to her age or young at heart). Sweetie Pie is staying here at the clinic for a while, so if you would like to visit her, call us or come by. She will make you smile! Posted 5/1/12

Sweetie Pie  Sweetie Pie

You can tell how sweet she is just by looking! Her "heart"
is right there on her chest for everyone to see.

Allie is a gorgeous Oriental Shorthair who loves playing with feathers and strings and chasing insects. She is shy but sweet, and she is an indoor-only cat. She will help you out with whatever you're working on, and prefers to be in the same room with you. If you would like to take this beautiful kitty home with you, please email Sharalee at mrszephyr@gmail.com. Posted 12/1/11

Ways to Acquire a Feline Companion
There are several ways to  locate the "purrfect" cat. When you find your kitty, we would love to see your new cat and get him/her off to a healthy start with your family.

Adopting from a private home: One of the advantages to adopting a cat from a private home is having the opportunity to investigate the environment and feline family of the kitten you may be adopting. Let the kitten stay with his mom until he is at least eight to twelve weeks old. Mother cats are experts at raising well behaved youngsters.

Bringing a stray cat into your home:  Crying, hungry cats that meow on your back doorstep are the most prevalent of the feline community.  Many of the wonderful cats we see found their homes this way.  It is very important to have these cats examined and vaccinated prior to adding them to your feline family. We frequently find medical problems that can be easily treated when found early and these waifs can be restored to health.

Adopting from the Humane Society/Animal Control:  These cats need a family! Many have had their basic needs provided and just need a home to call their own. This is a great place to see a large assortment of cats and kittens. There are many colors, ages and personalities to choose from. It is still a good idea to have your new adoptee examined by one of the veterinarians at The Cat Clinic to make sure that he or she gets off to a healthy start.

Purchasing a registered cat from a reputable breeder:  Elegant registered cats come in all colors, hair types and  personalities.  They have been carefully raised to develop a certain appearance and characteristic attitude.  If you are considering purchasing one of these cats it is wise to invest time in researching the breed and visit with knowledgeable cat fanciers prior to making a selection.  CFA cat shows are one place where you may find experts in the world of registered cats.

When you have found the perfect cat, you should expect to make a significant financial commitment. You will be rewarded with a beautiful companion who will grace your life for many years.
